Adam Stewart

Managing Partner of Digital Strategy

How I Think

In addition to my time working on over 40 clients over 8 agencies, I am constantly looking outside the marketing world for inspiration and new ways of thinking. As an undergraduate at Boston University, I studied journalism and film before refining my focus to advertising. In 2012, I pursued an interest in streetscape design and transportation planning at Tufts University, completing an M.A. in Urban Planning in 2014. I hold a certificate in Management and Leadership from MIT Sloan, and I learned GIS mapping as a means to visually represent complex data. I am constantly tapping into these skills and experiences to look at projects with a wider lens.

What I Do

I am a seasoned advertising and marketing professional with over 15 years of experience leading brand strategy engagements. I have worked at leading creative agencies, such as Arnold, McCann-Erickson and Butler, Shine and Stern, and partnered with a diverse set of clients that include Microsoft, Progressive, IBM, Converse, Panasonic, Staples, Boston Children's Hospital and MIT Sloan. Although I consider my expertise to be industry agnostic, my long-standing relationship with MIT Sloan and experience with other academic institutions such as Providence College, MIT School of Engineering and Regis College, has given me an expertise in higher education.

Where I’ve Been

Throughout my career, I have been at the forefront of a rapidly changing creative industry. As early as 2004, I recognized the importance of digital, transitioning from print and TV to roles focused on digital advertising and website development. In 2008, I worked at one of the first agencies solely focused on emerging social media channels, leveraging previous experience in social media and user generated content.

In 2009, as content and video become increasingly important to brand strategy, I led the creation of an online community and video podcasts for Panasonic, and rolled out webinars for MIT Sloan. I worked on one of the earliest augmented reality projects for Cisco in 2010, well before augmented and virtual reality has the foothold it does today. And by 2011, I was immersed in search marketing and web analytics, which became the foundation for the data-driven approach to marketing I take today.
