Nancy Reardon Stewart
Managing Partner of creative Strategy
How I Work
“What’s so special about your brand?” The answer rolls right off the tongue for some clients. For others, it’s very difficult to pinpoint, visualize and describe the best way to position yourself. That’s where I come in. My approach is rooted in my background as an urban beat reporter both coasts. When there’s no meeting or event, you still need to find a story. So you talk to people, observe them and find out what makes them tick. You ask a lot of questions, and you learn how to find a news or feature story just by walking around a neighborhood.
I love finding, developing, fine-tuning and amplifying the most interesting, unique and stand-out qualities of the brands I work with. I ask a lot of questions, I listen, analyze and observe. The biggest compliment I get is when clients observe that I’ve come to understand their goals, challenges and company quirks as well as they do. They feel like the Reardon+Stewart team is an internal collaborator, not an outside vendor.
What I Do
As the Creative Director at Reardon+Stewart, I oversee all aspects of our clients’ brand vision. With dual expertise in content strategy and website design, I craft compelling brand stories with a seamless interplay between words and images. I have written, designed or overseen strategy on nearly 175 websites.
My skills range from purely creative to strategic and tactical. I love to immerse myself in building out the details of brand identities, with details big and small. I believe in obsessing over every detail, from planning the props for a photo shoot to the optimization of metadata before a website launch. This appreciation of how everything works together makes our creative work smarter and more functional, and the strategic work more innovative.
Where I’ve Been
Prior to founding Reardon+Stewart, I worked at a growing agency as Director of Content Development. Clients I worked on included Time, Inc., Stanford Health and Children’s National Health System, among others.
In a past life, I spent over a decade fully immersed in journalism. My strength was being flexible enough to work as a page designer, reporter, news editor and State House bureau chief.
